The article,”Hydrogen idea: It’s back,” (Nov. 19), about Toyota's hydrogen-powered cars contained a couple of howlers. The author describes the Hindenburg as powered by hydrogen, when in fact it was powered by diesel engines. Hydrogen was used only for lift.
The author goes on to say that the crash of said dirigible "ended an earlier era of hydrogen-powered passenger travel", when in fact there never was such an era.
