First place in the American Athletic Conference is at stake Sunday when third-ranked UConn hosts Central Florida at the XL Center in Hartford (4 p.m., ESPN2) in a matchup on the only two remaining unbeaten women's basketball teams in conference play.

The Huskies (17-1, 6-0) have won six straight since losing at No. 2 Baylor on Jan 3 while the Golden Knights (17-2, 6-0) have won seven straight games.

UConn is fresh off a 73-39 dismantling of SMU on Wednesday night at Gampel Pavilion while UCF edged East Carolina 61-58 in overtime, also on Wednesday. The Golden Knights are led by 5-foot-7 guard Kay Kay Wright, who is averaing 18.7 points and 3.6 assists per game.

The Huskies swept a season series from the Knights a year ago, winning 90-44 at home and 55-37 in Orlando. UConn is 8-0 all-time against UCF and has never lost an ACC game in five-plus seasons (107-0 including the postseason).

UConn continues to be led by its two seniors, 6-3 guard Kate Lou Samuelson and 6-2 forward Napheesa Callier. Samuelson leads the Huskies in scoring (19.0) and is second in rebounding. Collier is second in scoring (18.4) and leads UConn in rebounding (10.1).

The Huskies' other three starters are also averaging in double figures — junior point guard Crystal Dangerfield (12.7), sophomore forward Megan Walker (12.4) and freshman guard Christyn Williams (11.5).

Collier, meanwhile, enters Sunday's game only 11 rebounds shy of reaching 1,000 for her career. She is also closing in 2,000 career points, needing 60 to become the 11th player in UConn history to reach that milestone and join Samuelson, who currently sits at No. 10 with 2,054 career points.
