    Norwich woman charged in arson case

    Denise Djedje, 20, of 320 Central Ave., was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief in connection with a May 7 arson fire.

    Norwich — Police arrested a local woman Tuesday in connection with the May 7 arson fire that caused significant damage to a multi-apartment home at 32-38 Spaulding St.

    Denise Djedje, 20, of 320 Central Ave., was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief.

    A warrant was obtained for her arrest after an investigation by Officer First Class Robert Smith and the Norwich Fire Marshal Officer determined that the blaze was incendiary in nature.

    Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit Detective Joseph Lombardi and his accelerant detection canine Claus also assisted in the investigation.

    Djedje is being held on a $200,000 bond, pending her arraignment Wednesday in Norwich Superior Court.

    Police said they anticipate more arrests.
