The New London Democratic Town Committee will soon vote on who to endorse for state representative. I would like to encourage endorsing Chris Soto. This young man has done tremendous work for New London and it’s well past time we support someone who can modernize how we do things in New London and Hartford. 

Chris tackled one of our worst problems, ensuring our young people make it through all the hurdles of getting into college. We all know that the best way to address access to opportunity is through education, and Chris has shown he not only cares about education, but also has the ability to create a plan and make it a reality.

We’ve heard much talk about supporting education from politicians, but under Chris’ leadership, Higher Edge has helped over 140 New London students get into college, many of whom are graduating this spring. Dozens of families here in New London will be celebrating, and looking toward a future of hope and possibility, thanks to Chris Soto. 

Demcorats should endorse someone who has both vision and the proven track record of the leadership needed to turn ideas into action.
