Groton — Police have issued an alert for a 15-year-old boy who they said is an endangered runaway.

Payton Kirkland, who went missing earlier Tuesday, is described as a white male who has red hair and hazel eyes. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds.

Payton was last seen wearing khaki pants, white Nike shoes and a white, long-sleeved sweatshirt with rainbow paint drips.
