Ledyard police arrest local man on numerous forgery charges

Ledyard — A Norwich man was arrested this morning after police said he cashed numerous forged checks.

Ledyard police with the assistance of state police from Troop E in Montville went to Benjamin R. Iliff's home and took him into custody.

Iliff, 23, of 348 Scotland Road, was charged with seven counts of third-degree forgery and seven counts of sixth-degree larceny.

Ledyard police said that Illiff allegedly stole checks from a Gales Ferry residence and then took the forged checks to numerous banks in southeastern Connecticut.
