Afraid of Covid? Work on your immune system

There has been quite a debate over the last few years about the pros and cons of masks, vaccines, social distancing, sanitizers, and the efficacy of certain drugs against Covid. To me, all of this is a red herring. Anyone who anticipates having social contact with others in the future will be exposed to Covid. The key moving forward is for individuals to improve their immune systems. Major improvements in most immune systems can be made by drinking more water, eating less processed foods and sugars, moving, and exercising more, and eliminating or reducing unhealthy habits. For the most part, these options are simple and inexpensive. Managing stress and spending more time with positive people also helps.

We do not hear a lot about this type of approach in the media. These steps are not sensational or confrontational; sales or ratings would not benefit from espousing them. Neither is this approach championed by our medical or political systems; no interest group benefits financially. A healthier population might even mean less money for the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
