State Independent Party nominates Formica in 20th State Senate District race

Danbury – East Lyme First Selectman Paul Formica, the Republican candidate for the 20th State Senate district, earned the nomination of the state Independent Party Thursday night, according to Formica’s campaign.

“I am very grateful to the Independent Party for its support and endorsement. Thank you for affirming that a leader who puts ideas into action is the best option for our district and the state," said Formica in a statement. "I will continue to share a vision and economic plan that increases opportunities for our residents, businesses, cities and towns.”

Formica is in his fourth term as first selectman. He is the owner of Flanders Fish Market, a restaurant that has been in business for more than three decades.

The 20th District includes the towns of Old Lyme, East Lyme, Salem, Bozrah, New London and Waterford as well as portions of Montville and Old Saybrook.
