Juvenile charged in Hebron high school noose incident

Connecticut State police said they charged a 17-year old white male student Wednesday with placing a noose in the boy’s locker room at RHAM High School in Hebron.

The student, who was not identified by state police because he is a juvenile, was charged with illegal placement of a noose on public property and second-degree breach of peace.

According to a news release, RHAM’s school resource officer and state police at Troop K in Colchester were notified on Nov. 18 that a noose had been located in the boy’s locker room.

Troopers reviewed video surveillance and conducted canvasses and numerous interviews before submitting an arrest warrant affidavit that was reviewed and granted by the Willimantic Juvenile Court, according to the release.

The student is due in court on Nov. 29.
