UConn football to allow spectators at three practices

The UConn football program will allow its fans a rare chance to see the team go through preseason drills on three occasions next month.
A source close to the program told The Day spectators will be able to watch the Huskies during training camp on the practice field in Storrs (behind Memorial Stadium) on the following dates: Friday, Aug. 14 from 3:35-5:30 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4:15-6:15 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9:30-11:15 a.m.
UConn, fresh off consecutive bowl appearances for the first time in program history, opens its 2009 training camp on Monday, Aug. 10. The Huskies begin the season on Saturday, Sept. 5 against Ohio University in Athens at 7 p.m.
