Hank Williams singalong
We've had enough of you Elvis impersonators - and that was BEFORE you started sending toxic envelopes to our leaders!
Hank Williams impersonators? That's a different story.
Consider this idea from The Full Moon Jamboree, the area's latest archival honky tonk band. On Saturday, at New London's 33, during the course of their three-set performance, FMJ will host "A Tribute to Hank Williams Starring YOU!"
What happens is, audience members will be invited onstage with the band - and then perform his or her favorite Hank Williams song. Here's your chance to warble in that keening tone on "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," "The Funeral," "When God Comes and Gathers His Jewels" or any of the H Man's immortal catalog.
Oh - and don't overlook the rest of the evening and The Full Moon Jamboree's recitation of excellent material.
