    New London man charged with operating a drug factory

    New London — A New London man was charged with operating a drug factory and other drug-related crimes after city and state police searched an apartment on Connecticut Avenue Wednesday and seized 146 grams of crack cocaine, 22 grams of marijuana, narcotics-related packaging material and $2,202 in cash, according to a New London Police Department news release.

    Raymond Fuentes, 34, of 49 Connecticut Ave., No. 1, was charged with possession of narcotics greater than 4 ounces, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory, the release said.

    He was also wanted by the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles on a remand to custody order and an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court, the release said.

    New London vice and narcotics officers, along with members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East and Connecticut Parole Fugitive Task Force served the warrant at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
