Teens arrested after "spanking" mall shoppers

New London — Police arrested two teens who they said played a "sexually deviant prank" on two victims at the New London Mall on North Frontage Road over the weekend.

Police said on Saturday and Sunday, they received two separate complaints from two victims who said while walking to or from their cars two hooded juveniles ran passed them and slapped them on the buttocks.

On Monday, police said they were able to identify the teens. Police arrested Monday a 14-year-old male and the second suspect, a 13-year-old male, was arrested Tuesday.

Police said each teen will be charged with two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of breach of peace.

Police said they will continue to have a high police presence at the shopping center during the holiday season.
