A Boxing Revival at Coast Guard

The Coast Guard Academy Boxing Club hosted its first bouts in more than 60 years. Boxing was eliminated from the athletic department in 1948, but came back as a club sport in 2002. Led by coaches Tom Barile and Christian Soto and co-captain Gabriel Nelson, the Bears welcomed boxers from the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the Whaling City Boxing Club.
