MLK Day marches planned locally
Norwich and New London will each host marches today in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
In New London, the annual walk will begin at 10 a.m. at City Hall and proceed up State Street past the Public Library of New London and Superior Court to Huntington Street. It will conclude at Shiloh Baptist Church on Garvin Street for a memorial service.
In Norwich, a march will begin at 1:45 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Center at 21 Fairmount St. and end at the Evans Memorial AME Zion Church at 2 McKinley Ave., where a 2:30 p.m. ceremony will be held.
