Barbara B. Hamburg, 48, was born on April 29, 1961 in New Haven. Sadly, her life was taken on March 3 in Madison.

From a young age, Barbara loved the outdoors, athletics, and travel. Most of all, she loved life and she radiated her love to others through her energy, spirit, and good will, helping those in need and drawing deeply on her compassion for others. Her membership in AA was a centerpiece of her life for the past five years. Barbara was a tireless worker, supporting others to recover, bringing great joy to the Madison and New Haven AA community. A beloved mother, cherished daughter, adored sister, and steady friend, Barbara brought light into the lives of everyone she knew. Truly, she was too good for this world and her memory will live on in each and every life she touched.

She is survived by her children Madison C. Hamburg and Barbara Alexandra Hamburg; her mother Barbara P. Lund, formerly of Guilford, and her step-father Richard D. Lund; her father Richard J. Beach; her siblings Christopher J. Beach, Catherine B. Barrett, Lewis S. Beach, Conway Beach Williams, and Richard P. Beach; and a host of friends and extended family whose lives she graced.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 27 at the First Congregational Church, 22 Meeting House Lane, Madison.
