Second cruise ship visit scheduled

The Crown Princess cruise ship is visiting the New London port on Oct. 9 as well as on Sept. 18.

George Cassidy, the executive director of the Connecticut Cruise Ship Task Force, confirmed Monday that Princess Cruises ship will be here twice. Donna Barnett, a port operations/logistics specialist for the cruise line's Caribbean & Atlantic regions, said the ship will arrive on Oct. 9 at 7 a.m. and depart at 2 p.m.

Cruise ships have been visiting the city since 2002, but none visited last year.
