North Stonington selectman urge haste in approving hospital sale
North Stonington — The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday passed a resolution requesting that the Rhode Island state agencies responsible for granting final approval to the sale of The Westerly Hospital to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital act as quickly as possible.
In the resolution, the board urged the agencies to be “mindful of the importance of said sale approval to the health care needs of the area traditionally served by the Westerly Hospital and its important contribution to the area’s economic vitality.”
