On second thought, TVC deal right move

As someone who at first had concerns about the sale of Thames Valley Cable, I now support the decision of the council and mayor to sell the business. I admit that initially I believed that there was insufficient information, but after the public information session, council meetings that included Mayor Galbraith's very knowledgeable and candid responses to questions, and the RTM presentation, it's clear that the sale is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Groton.

I've listened to people who claim there must have been some wrongdoing in order for so much money to have been spent on this investment, but the facts don't support that claim. The facts point to a very popular business plan that couldn't survive the economic downturn. We only have to look around us to know that many business investments couldn't survive the recent economy, costing their owners huge investments. The city was no different.

It's time to face the harsh reality and move forward.
