Westerly man charged in Groton assault and burglary

Groton - A 34-year-old Westerly man faces multiple criminal charges related to what Groton Town Police said was a report of family violence that occurred Sunday at a Groton residence.
Curtis J. Lupo was extradited from Rhode Island on a warrant Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary with a deadly weapon, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree larceny, interfering with an emergency call and second-degree threatening.
Held overnight in lieu of a $100,000 bond, Lupo was scheduled for arraignment today in New London Superior Court. Further information was not immediately available.
