Author Tish Rabe in Mystic
Tish Rabe knows a little something about writing children's books. Actually, she knows a lot about the subject. She's written more than 150 in all - including the latest Dr. Seuss books and some Curious George tales.
She, of course, penned her own series, too - the "I Believe Bunny" series.
Rabe, who divides her time between Mystic and New York City, will be at the center of a "Tea with Tish" program Saturday at the Mystic Congregational Church. Profits from the program will go to charitable agencies and organizations.
Rabe has musical talent, too; she started out as a singer and wrote tunes for "Sesame Street." She'll sing during the Saturday program, with her husband, John Rabe, on bass and Joe Grieco, a founding member of The Cartells, on piano.
The tea for "Tea with Tish" will come from the Women's Fellowship, and people are encouraged to bring a special teacup and saucer for their tea, to be enjoyed along with sandwiches and cookies.
