Three candidates withdraw from Norwich ballot, one to be replaced

Norwich – Three candidates, one Democrat and two Libertarians, have withdrawn their candidacies for City Council.

Democratically endorsed candidate Marissa Way and petitioning Libertarian candidates Ashley A. Pryski and Kyle C. Degray informed City Clerk Betsy Barrett that they have withdrawn from the race.

Wednesday was the deadline for petitioning candidates to file petitions to get onto the Nov. 5 election ballot.

The Democratic Town Committee, however, would have until 21 days prior to the election to fill the vacancy caused by the endorsed candidate’s withdrawal.

DTC Chairman Larry Goldman said the town committee already has a new candidate, William Eyberse, who will be considered for endorsement at the Aug. 22 regular town committee meeting.
