H.S. Football Roundup: Saints rout Woodstock 31-0
Montville - Devin Gleason ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third as the St. Bernard/Norwich Tech cooperative football team routed Woodstock Academy, 31-0, in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division on Friday night.
Gleason scored on rushes of 53 and 3 yards for the Saints (1-1, 1-0) and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Tyriece Burke - all in the first half - as St. Bernard opened a 25-0 halftime lead. Gleason finished with 72 rushing and 96 passing years for the Saints, whose other scores came on an 11-yard run by Garrett Boerenko and Dan MacDonald's 55-yard punt return.

• Justin Cheverier ran for four touchdowns as Valley Regional/Old Lyme beat Coginchaug 61-14 in a Pequot Football Conference South Diviison game.
Cheverier had scoring runs of 51, 47, 25 and 6 yards and finished with 170 yards rushing on six carries. Phil Cohen was 6-for-6 passing for 93 yards and a touchdown, Evan Smith had a 93-yard kickoff return and a 64-yard touchdown run and Chris Jean-Pierre caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score for Valley (2-0, 2-0).
Valley's final score came when Matt Przybysz threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Brian Wolf. Jared Roche kicked five extra points.
