Amtrak announces schedule change for Wednesday

Amtrak announced this afternoon that it will operate a modified schedule on the Northeast Corridor between Washington and Boston, the Keystone Service between New York and Harrisburg, Pa., and the Empire Line between New York City and Albany on Wednesday.

Acela Express and Northeast Regional service will operate between Boston and Washington, though passengers should expect reduced frequencies. Service also will operate on the Empire Line between New York City and Albany and on the Keystone line between New York and Harrisburg, with reduced frequencies.

Passengers with reservations that require modification are being accommodated on other trains and are being notified by Amtrak Customer Service. Tools including Amtrak.com and smartphone apps are available or customers may call (800) 872-7245 for information.

Other corridor services, including the Amtrak Downeaster between Brunswick, Maine, and Boston and the Springfield Shuttle between New Haven and Springfield, Mass., are expected to operate a normal schedule.
