East Lyme voters OK $65 million budget

East Lyme — Voters approved the town's 2014-15 budget of $65,113,598 at Thursday's referendum.

The referendum produced 446 votes in favor of the spending plan and 167 votes against. Voter turnout was 5.28 percent.

The 2014-15 budget stands at 3.07 percent more than the current budget. It is comprised of $22,320,831 for the town, a 5.13 percent increase, and $42,792,767 for the schools, a 2.03 percent increase.

The Board of Finance will set the tax rate at a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Town Hall.
