These days everyone wants their rights. They ignore the other half of that equation: their responsibilities. Foley is willing to repeal gun legislation enacted after Newtown. Recently, a 9-year-old girl killed an instructor while handling an automatic weapon at a range, "Shooting by 9-year-old girl stirs debate over guns," (Aug. 28).

Just a few years ago, an 8-year-old boy killed himself with an automatic weapon at a range in Massachusetts. Also, have people so quickly forgotten Wyatt, the 2-year-old boy in Jewett City who shot himself with his father's handgun?

How many more children must die? Laws are enacted in an effort to get people to take their responsibilities along with their rights. Don't let them get repealed.
