Make a Difference - Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality

WHO: Tammy and Roger

AGENCY: Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality, Inc. (MASH)

THEIR SITUATION: The lives of Tammy and Roger changed forever when they became first-time parents just three months ago. To provide for their son, Roger works two jobs. Tammy plans to return to work after the holidays. But they have no car and using public transportation adds hours to the commute. Roger currently rides his bike from New London to Groton to his jobs. With winter approaching, they hope to buy a used car.

WHAT TO GIVE: Monetary donations to help Tammy and Roger purchase a car, or a tax-deductible donation of a used car in running condition. Lack of transportation is directly linked to the economic insecurity and housing vulnerability of struggling families. MASH’s Wheels to Work program helps families resolve their transportation crises.
