WHO: Anna, 57.

HER SITUATION: Anna has struggled since 2013 with one setback after another, including loss of work, injuries and homelessness. It has not been easy for her. Earlier this year, not long after finding a full-time job, she fell, injuring herself, and had to take a medical leave of absence. She has just gone back to work after two months without pay and is struggling to catch up with bills. On a brighter note, she will be moving into subsidized housing this month after four years of housing insecurity. She would benefit from some help getting back on her feet and starting out in her new apartment.
WHAT TO GIVE: A small microwave, a stick vacuum for hardwood floors, gift certificates to Target, Wal-Mart, Shop Rite or Stop & Shop to help buy clothing for work, cleaning supplies and groceries.
