Hall of famers: Bon Jovi plays Mohegan Sun

Jon Bon Jovi (Michael Zorn, Invision/AP)

On Saturday night, you could stay home and watch HBO’s recording of Bon Jovi’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14.

Or you could go to Mohegan Sun to see Bon Jovi live in concert.

    No contest!

Not that the ceremony wasn’t memorable. After all, Howard Stern was the one who inducted the band. He compared Bon Jovi’s sales numbers — 130 million albums sold — to the mere 50 million people killed by the Bubonic Plague. He also said, “In a sign of the zombie apocalypse, Jann Wenner finally let Bon Jovi into the Hall of Fame,” referencing the Rock Hall (and Rolling Stone) co-founder and the long wait for Bon Jovi to make it into the hall.

Now, Bon Jovi is back on the road, in support of the 2016 album “This House Is Not for Sale.” Will they have a little extra punch, since they're fresh off their Hall of Fame celebration? I'm guessing so.

Bon Jovi, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Nick Fradiani; $130, $200; 1-800-745-3000.
