A holiday rom-com titled “A Very Nutty Christmas” was, you may recall, filmed this spring at the Garde Arts Center and Olde Mistick Village, where everyone was wrapped in festive finery and everything was decorated in the Christmas spirit.

Well, tis the season, so “A Very Nutty Christmas” starring Melissa Joan Hart and Barry Watson had its premiered in late November on Lifetime. Now, though, locals will get to see it on the big screen, at a Saturday screening at the Garde Arts Center and Sunday screenings at Mystic Luxury Cinemas.

Hart (who made her name with “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”) plays a baker who has to fill an order of 12,000 cookies before Christmas. Not only that, but she falls in love with a nutcracker come to life (Watson, who first hit the limelight in “7th Heaven”).

“A Very Nutty Christmas” is produced by Hartbreak Films, a production company Hart owns with her mother, Paula Hart, and Synthetic Cinema. Synthetic Cinema, which is based in Connecticut, is owned by Andrew Gernhard, who grew up in Norwich and lives in Gales Ferry.

Some members of the creative team will discuss the movie at the Garde after the screening, which benefits the Garde and the Connecticut Humane Society.

“A Very Nutty Christmas,” 8 p.m. Saturday, Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., New London; $18; (860) 444-7373.

"A Very Nutty Christmas," 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Mystic Luxury Cinemas, 27 Coogan Blvd., Mystic; $6 and a food donation for the Gemma E. Moran Food Bank.
