UConn women host East Carolina tonight

No. 5 UConn women's basketball team hosts East Carolina at the XL Center in Hartford on Wednesday night. The game will be televised by SNY and begins at 7 p.m.

The Huskies are coming off a 65-55 win over Cincinnati last Saturday. Napheesa Collier led UConn with 20 points and 11 rebounds while junior Megan Walker had her third straight game with double-digit rebounds with 10. Collier reached both 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds last week, becoming just the fifth Husky to do so.

UConn is 9-0 all-time vs. ECU. The Pirates are coming off a 63-61 win over Tulane last Saturday. This season, Lashonda Monk leads the team with 12.9 points per game while Raven Johnson has 12.6 points per game and leads ECU with 6.4 rebounds per game.

UConn seniors Katie Lou Samuelson and Collier and junior Crystal Dangerfield were named to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Watch List. UConn is the only school with three selections on the list and is one of four programs with multiple selections.

The Huskies will host their annual Play4Kay Pink Game Saturday when the team takes on Temple at Gampel Pavilion. Fans can visit UConn's auction at, with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Fund.
