    H.S. track: Ledyard boys win ECC D-II title and finish unbeaten

    Ledyard — Jaiden Bickham won the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints as Ledyard completed a perfect season by defeating Bacon Academy 118-32 to win the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys' track and field championship on Tuesday.

    Bickham won the 100 in 11.0 secondsd and the 200 in 23.2 seconds for the Colonels (5-0, 4-0), while Adam Crawford added wins the the javelin (137 feet) and 300 hurdles (41.5).(javelin, 300 hurdles) won two events as well for the Colonels (5-0, 4-0). 

    In other meets:

    • Stonington captured the ECC Division III title with a 124-25 over Griswold. Robert Lewis won the 110 hurdles (16.9) and 300 hurdles (43.6) for the Bears (4-1, 3-0), while Daniel Robinson won the 1,600 (5:02.3) and 800 (2:16.3), and Harrison Rose captured the long jump (16-7) and triple jump (33-10).

    • Norwich Free Academy wrapped up the ECC Division I title with a 106-44 win over Fitch. Jaheim Spruill and Andrew Cote won two events each for NFA (4-0, 3-0). Spruill won the high jump at 5-10 and the 200 in 23.3 and Cote won the 800 in 2:09.5 and the 400 in 53.6. Ajai Brown of Fitch (2-3, 1-2) won the long jump (20-7) and triple jump (43-9). 

    • East Lyme ended its regular season with a 111-49 win over Woodstock Academy in an ECC Division I meet. The Vikings (3-1, 2-1) picked up two individual wins apiece from Jonathan Zavaleta in the 100 (11.8) and 200 (23.3), Sam Whittaker in the 1,600 (4:28.2) and 3,200 (9:43.2), Makaih Olawale in the high jump (5-8) and triple jump (38-6.5), and Akhil Chilamkurthi in the 300 hurdles (43.9) and pole vault (11-0).

    • Julian Valdez won two events as Montville beat Plainfield 95-49 in an ECC Division III meet. Valdez won the 110 hurdles (16.5) and high jump (5-8). Jacob Rose, Kenneth Kramer, Lenny Szczygiel, Tyrone Mack, Frank Cook, Jerrell Fitch and Chris Earley also won events for Montville (3-2, 2-2).  

    Girls

    • Ledyard won the ECC Division II title with a 95-59 win over Bacon Academy. Nadia Helme won the 100 (12.9) and 200 (28.0) and Abby Millbach captured the triple jump (29-0.5) and long jump (13-6.5) for the Colonels (4-1, 4-0).

    • Darya Mikusova and Gilly Goodwin won two events each at East Lyme wrapped up the ECC Division I title with a 111-39 win over Woodstock. Mikusova won the 100 hurdles (18.0) and 300 hurdles (49.7) and Goodwin won the 1600 (5:55.2) and 800 (2:35.4). Katherine Harris, Katie Solinsky, Brianna em Ende, Sofia Riker, Megan Delillo, Sydney Buckley, Shealynn DeConti and Sjodin Fedikovich also won events for East Lyme (4-0, 3-0). 

    • Ally Lewis won the 100 and the high jump as Norwich Free Academy defeated Fitch 101-49 in Div. I of the ECC and Windham 140-10. Paige Martin won the triple jump and pole vault for the Wildcats (3-1, 2-1). In Fitch's 103.5-28.5 win over Windham, Janaya Burley won the 100 hurdles and 200 for the Falcons (4-2, 1-2).

    • Stonington earned a share of the ECC Division III title with Montville by defeating Griswold 113-36. The Bears (3-1-1, 3-0-1) had three double winners in Kaleigh Bolduc, Gwen Anderson and Lila Rich. Bolduc won the 100 hurdles (16.8) and shot put (25-6), Anderson captured the 100 (13.17) and 200, and Rich won the high jump (4-8) and pole vault (9-6).

    • Montville got its share of the ECC Division III title with a 95-39 win over Plainfield. Jenny Alarcon and MacKenzie Clark were double winners for the Indians (4-0-1, 3-0-1). Alarcon won the shot put (30-5.5) and discus (93-7) and Clark won the long jump (15-2) and triple jump (32-2). Lauren Ross, Bridget Beal, Mady Whittaker, Lauren Velazquez and Alana Chappelle also won events for Montville.
