It’s been a trying time for T.I.

He lost his sister, who was 66, earlier this year when she died after suffering an asthma attack. He’s done something really wonderful to honor her: he has established a scholarship in her name. He partnered with VH1 and the United Negro College Fund to create the Precious Chapman Scholarship Fund, and the first $25,000 prize was handed out earlier this month.

With that done, T.I. is back out doing what has made him famous: rapping. He will come to Foxwoods on Friday to do a concert along with Fat Joe.

It should be a night full of recognizable numbers, considering that T.I. and Fat Joe both have hits of their own (led by T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life” and Fat Joe’s “Lean Back”) along with ones where they teamed up with other artists.

T.I. and Fat Joe, 8 p.m. Friday, Grand Theater, Foxwoods; $65-$149; 1-800-200-2882.
