Clark to become head coach and general manager of Black Wolves

Mohegan — Head coach Glenn Clark will take on the dual role of general manager after the New England Black Wolves announced Tuesday that current GM Rich Lisk will leave the organization at the end of the month.

Lisk, who began his tenure when the Philadelphia Wings relocated to the state in 2015, has accepted the position of executive vice president of GF Sports, a live events and sports media entertainment company based in New York that owns the National Lacrosse League's New York Riptide and two popular ATP World Tour tennis tournaments — the New York Open and Atlanta Open.

In addition, vice president of sports Amber Cox announced that assistant coach Clem D'Orazio will also become the assistant general manager.

"Rich has been the key figure of the Black Wolves franchise since the team's arrival to Mohegan Sun," Cox said in a release. "He's not only helped build a championship contender on the field, but he's been vital to the team's operation, overseeing every detail to ensure a first-class experience for our coaches and players.

"He will be sorely missed, but his leadership has set us up for continued success. I am excited to have Glenn and Clem step into these new roles and continue leading the charge to bring an NLL championship to New England."

Clark, now in his fifth season as head coach, has helped guide the Black Wolves to four straight playoff appearances. They are off to a 3-0 start this winter. D'Orazio is in his third season as the assistant coach after serving as coordinator of player personnel and manager of scouting.

Clark and D'Orazio will oversee all player personnel decisions, scouting and lacrosse operations, Cox said.

New England has its second straight bye week this weekend before hosting the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
