Man taken to hospital after being struck by car in New London

New London — One person was taken to the hospital Friday after being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 345 Bank St.
Police said the accident occurred about 8:34 p.m. The man who was struck was conscious and alert while on scene and taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. The pedestrian’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
Police said the driver, 73-year-old Richard Teper of Lisbon, was issued an infraction for failure to grant right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
