Guns seized, man charged after road rage incident on I-95 in East Lyme

East Lyme — Police seized two guns from a Woodbridge man after a road rage incident on Interstate 95 in East Lyme on Friday, police said.

A person driving on I-95 called 911 about 5:10 p.m. to report that after merging onto the highway from Exit 74, a black Mercedes pulled up beside the caller's car. The driver of the Mercedes allegedly started yelling, making inappropriate hand gestures and started waving a black handgun at the roof of the caller's car, police said.

The caller allowed the Mercedes to pass and state troopers later located the vehicle on I-95 and pulled the man over. They found two firearms in his vehicle, police said.

Chad Forti, 48, of Woodbridge was taken into custody and charged with second-degree breach of peace. His pistol permit and firearms were seized, police said.
