This letter is a staunch endorsement for Groton Town Council candidate Portia Bordelon in the Democratic primary. Portia is not only the accountability our local government for the town of Groton craves, but a breath of fresh air that our political system, as a whole, is missing.

Those who have had the privilege of witnessing her passionately support the opinions, perspectives, and experiences of the citizens of Groton understand this. Portia is committed to doing what is right rather than what is popular. She speaks her mind and, at the same time, is a dedicated listener to her constituency − a rare combination of attributes in today’s politics. Portia cares for us as people, provides transparency to the community and is invested in the issues that affect our town.

My family and I support Portia as a key catalyst in bolstering dialogue on the real issues Groton faces.
