Bozrah — State police said a Meriden man is facing charges after a Mohegan Police cruiser was struck while trying to conduct a traffic stop.

State police from the Troop K barracks were alerted last Thursday at 7:15 a.m. to be on the lookout for a black or red Mini Cooper, said to be heading westbound on Route 2 after striking the Mohegan Police cruiser, according to the police report.

"Troop K dispatch announced that the Mini Cooper was involved in a crash or had become disabled on Route 2 westbound in the area of Exit 22," police said in the report.

Police said Jean C. Police said he is due at GA-21 courthouse in Norwich on Dec. 9.
