    Ledyard man arrested after dogs chase mother, children

    Ledyard – Police arrested a 45-year-old man Thursday morning after his dogs chased a mother and her children at a daycare center.

    Joshua Cruz of 754 Colonel Ledyard Highway was arrested Thursday morning after police responded to a 911 call at the neighboring address of 758 Colonel Ledyard Highway.

    According to the news release, the victim explained to responders that Cruz’s dogs chased her and her children while she was dropping the children off at day care, and that it is an ongoing issue.

    The release states Cruz was contacted at his residence where it was discovered he had four active warrants out for his arrest.

    Cruz was charged with risk of injury to a minor, reckless endangerment, breach of peace, possession of vicious/barking dogs, two counts of first-degree failure to appear in court, second-degree failure to appear in court and failure to respond to an infraction.

    Cruz was arrested and held on $321,500 cash bond. He was set to appear in New London Superior Court on the same day.
