Pfizer opens call for local nonprofit grants

Groton — Pfizer Groton Labs has opened the call for local nonprofits to apply for its 2018-19 competitive grants.

The deadline to apply for programs taking place from July 2018 through June 2019 is March 31, and organizations can apply at bit.ly/Pfizergrants.

Pfizer will consider applications from organizations serving communities in southeastern Connecticut, southern Rhode Island and the Greater New Haven area. Priority will be given to programs bringing science and math to primary and secondary students.

Other grants will be given to programs that support local civic and cultural institutions or help the underserved, according to a news release from Pfizer.

Grants will not fund access to health care, or special events like fundraising dinners or galas.

Grants will range from $1,000 to $10,000. According to a Pfizer spokesperson, the company has provided 51 grants in 2015, 58 in 2016 and 68 in 2017.
