The Lewin G. Joel Elementary School in Clinton observed Fire Safety Week last month; students in Kindergarten through third grade were taught not only about fire safety at their home and school, but to not be afraid or intimidated when they see a firefighter in his or her uniform and mask. Here, Julia Tanner, a student at the school, is being "rescued" and taught fire safety lessons by a Clinton firefighter. Overseeing the process, at back, are Heather and Scott Davenport.
