    Sun lose to Aces in Vegas

    Las Vegas — Liz Cambage scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 12 rebounds to help the Las Vegas Aces beat the Connecticut Sun 89-81 on Sunday.

    Kayla McBride had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, Kelsey Plum scored 16 points, and Jackie Young had 13 for Las Vegas. Dearica Hamby added 12 points, nine rebounds and a career-high six assists.

    The Aces took a 43-42 lead into halftime and Jackie Young and Kayla McBride hit back-to-back 3-pointer to open the second as Las Vegas (15-9) outscored the Sun 27-15 in the third quarter to take a 70-57 lead. Bria Holmes hit a 3 to cut Connecticut's deficit to 73-70 with 6:53 to play but Dearica Hamby and Liz Cambage combined to score the next nine points and push the lead to 12 with four minutes left.

    Courtney Williams led Connecticut (16-7) with 13 points, and Jasmine Thomas and Alyssa Thomas each had 11. Jonquel Jones, who failed to score in double figures just once in the first 22 games this season, was limited to eight points for the second consecutive game.
