An attorney licensed to practice in three jurisdictions, she worked at the law offices of Clein & Frasure at the time of the murder. Now 51, she is serving a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of release for masterminding the murder of Buzz Clinton, who was married to her sister, Kim Carpenter Clinton. Beth Carpenter maintained that Buzz Clinton was abusing her niece, Rebecca.

Haiman Long Clein

An Old Saybrook attorney, he was Beth Carpenter's boss and lover. He hired cocaine dealer Mark Despres to murder Buzz Clinton. He says Beth Carpenter begged him to have Clinton killed.

Now 73, he is expected to be paroled within seven years from 35-year prison sentence.

Anson "Buzz" Clinton III

The victim of the murder-for-hire plot, he was fatally shot on March 10, 1994, at age 28. He was married to Kim Carpenter Clinton, the father of Briana Clinton Mahoney and Anson Clinton IV and the stepfather of Rebecca Carpenter. A certified nursing aide, he also had worked as a male stripper for a short time.

Kim Carpenter

The wife of Buzz Clinton and mother of Rebecca Carpenter, Briana Clinton Mahoney, Anson Clinton IV and four other children. She is now a single mother who works two jobs and lives in Norwich.

Rebecca Carpenter

A daughter of Kim Carpenter and John Gaul, and Buzz Clinton's stepdaughter. At 3, she was the subject of a custody dispute between her mother and grandmother, Cynthia Carpenter. Now a 24-year-old mother of three young children, she is engaged and lives in Norwich.

Briana Clinton Mahoney

The daughter of Kim Carpenter and Buzz Clinton, she was 8 months old when her father was murdered. Now 21 and married to 58-year-old Bernie Mahoney, she lives in Groton, works at McDonald's and takes classes at Three Rivers Community College.

Daloyd "Dee" Clinton

The mother of victim Buzz Clinton, she died on June 8, 2009. The operator of a dog kennel in Old Lyme, she became a leader of Survivors of Homicide after her son's death. During court proceedings, she always wore the dark blue dress that she had worn to her son's funeral.

Anson "Buck" Clinton Jr.

Dee Clinton's husband and the father of the victim, he worked as a correction officer. Now retired, he lives in Arizona with ex-wife of his granddaughter Briana's husband.

Suzanne Clinton Krach

She was 11 when her brother, Buzz, was killed. Now married with children, she works as an assistant principal at a high school in eastern Connecticut.

William "Billy" Clinton

He was 9 when his brother, Buzz, was killed. He lives in Old Lyme and runs the family's dog kennel business and works for a local optician.
