    Meet your local bloggers

Welcome to theday.com's "Postcards from the Games" blog. Here you'll find photos and updates from some of your neighbors who are attending the Summer Games in London.

Here's a little about our authors:

Janet Hamilton lives in Mystic and will be attending men's & women's soccer, basketball and biking.

Jennifer Norcross - "I'm an English and history teacher at Stonington High School, and I try to take advantage of my summers off for interesting travel. I have close friends in England who are also attending some events (we'll go to one track & field session together), so the trip is an opportunity to visit friends as well as attend the Olympics. As a traveler and a sports fan, there is no greater event to attend than the Olympics, and I consider this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see great athletes in action and be in a truly international environment."

Jennifer is attending beach volleyball, rowing, men's & women's basketball and track.

Roger Potter - "I work at Mohegan Sun Casino and am a second generation Olympian. I represented Great Britain in the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in the discipline of bobsled and my father, Reg Potter, captained the Great Britain water polo team in the 1948 Summer Olympics.

I have been fortunate to obtain tickets for 12 sessions and have also been selected to assist as an official host to welcome fellow UK and Interntional Olympians to the British Reunion Center in London.

The sporting events I will be attending include; Athletics, Swimming, Water Polo, Rowing, Hockey, Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Cycling, and BMX Cycling."

Laura Stevenson-Flom is a nationally certified, state-licensed massage therapist with a specialty in sports massage and a private practice in her Colchester home. She will be serving as a volunteer massage therapist at the Summer Olympics, helping assist athletes from around the world. She's been assigned to Athletes' Village, one of seven Olympic Park venues.
