Stevenson-Flom: Meeting the world through massage

Monday was Day 10 in the Olympic Games Countdown and I did nine massage sessions. That's a lot of massage and this morning my body is very unhappy with me. But, I have five hours of "letting in" (staying home) before heading to the Clinic to do it all again.

Today is a busy day at athletics with the 100, 400 & 1500 meter finals. The Men's Triathlon is being held in Hyde Park. The Men and Women's Handball and (Field) Hockey are in the quarter finals. The beautiful ladies of Synchronized Swimming are training three times a day for their competition that starts on the August 9. Boxers, both men and women will continue over the next several days as will Football (soccer), Handball and Hockey. And I can't forget the Marathon which will take place on Sunday!

The events that I have been writing about are certainly not the only games in town but are the ones with the athletes that I have been seeing. You readers may be, in fact, most likely is, seeing more Olympics than I am! The flat has only the most basic of TV channels and unlike at home where you can usually find 24/7 coverage, here, not so much.

Yesterday I met a couple of new counties, well... at least a representative from them. I had athletes from Mongolia, Pakistan, El Salvador and Comoros as well as repeat clients and countries.

At the end of the day, when I am making that solitary midnight trip home, I have found myself replaying and reflecting. I can not help but wish that the "One World" atmosphere that is here in London right now could be bottled and put into all the drinking water in the world. Then, just maybe, my children and my children's children would live in a much more peaceful world.
