The UConn men's basketball team will be eligible to compete in the 2014 post-season after posting passing marks in the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rate report.

A post-season ban due to a sub-standard APR prevented the Huskies from playing beyond the regular season last season.

The Huskies earned a score of 947, out of a possible 1,000, for the 2011-12 academic year. Combined with their 2010-11 score of 978, their two-year average stands at 962.

The NCAA requires a two-year average of at least 930 to maintain post-season eligibility.

"Our men's basketball team again had an outstanding APR score for the second-straight season and I want to congratulate the student-athletes, coach (Jim) Calhoun, coach (Kevin) Ollie and the rest of the coaching staff for that accomplishment," said UConn Director of Athletics Warde Manuel in a released statement. "I think it is particularly noteworthy that they earned these scores during a time in which they were playing incredibly competitive basketball, particularly in their great run to the national championship in 2011."

UConn will play in the new American Athletic Conference next season. Memphis will host the first conference tournament next March.
