Injury updates on Boatright, Purvis, Calhoun

UConn sent along some injury updates today.

Ryan Boatright (sprained left ankle), Rodney Purvis (high left ankle sprain) and Omar Calhoun (right MCL sprain) are in various stages of their recovery process.

It appears that Calhoun has the best shot to be in uniform for Friday's game against Yale. He was the only one of the three to practice with the team on Tuesday. He's been sidelined since late October.

Barring any setbacks, Calhoun will likely practice again Wednesday and Thursday. If his knee is at 100 percent, he could be ready Friday, according to UConn.

Boatright, the leading scorer, wore a walking boot Tuesday. He received treatment and attempted some walking drills. X-rays taken Monday were negative for any structural damage.

He turned his ankle for a second time on Sunday in the final seconds of a 55-54 loss to Texas and needed help to leave the floor.

The Huskies had the day off Monday.

Purvis, Boatright's starting backcourt partner, only did some light shooting on the side Tuesday. He hurt his ankle in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Championship loss to West Virginia on Nov. 23 and missed the Texas game.

Depending on how he feels, Purvis may practice some Wednesday and then increase activity on Thursday. His status for Friday will be determined later in the week.
