    New London Comes Up Aces Vs. Wheeler

    New London - Vivian Vitorino, Nicole Alicea, Joanna Rapisura and Cherokee Loftis combined for 24 aces as New London High School beat Wheeler Monday, 25-13, 25-13, 25-14, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division volleyball match.

    New London is 2-10, 2-6. The Lions are 1-13, 1-8.

    ¦ Katie Wilson had 16 kills and five aces as Norwich Free Academy beat East Lyme 25-13, 25-18, 25-21 in an ECC Large match.

    Kastine Evans had 10 assists for NFA (11-5, 4-2). Abby VanLuvanee had nine digs and seven kills for the Vikings (10-7, 4-3) and Molly Giannattasio had 10 assists.

    ¦ Allison Cavasino had 16 kills, 18 digs and two aces and Katelyn Sykora added 40 assists and five aces as ECC Small Division champion Waterford rallied to beat Plainfield 25-21, 24-26, 23-25, 25-6, 15-9.

    Margaret Ray had 16 kills, five digs and two aces for Waterford (10-6, 9-0). Kimmy Reindl had nine kills for the Panthers (9-7, 5-3).

    ¦ Brooke Bailey had 10 kills, seven digs and four aces as Bacon Academy swept Montville, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18 in the ECC Medium.

    Stephanie Armagno had eight assists and five digs for Bacon (9-6, 5-2) and Jaimie Kowalsky had 10 digs and four aces. Lauren Giroux had six kills and five digs for the Indians (7-9. 2-4) and Melissa Paul had three aces and six digs.

    ¦ Tina Mezes had 15 digs, five kills and three blocks as Old Lyme beat Hyde of New Haven 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 in a Shoreline Conference match. Meghan Shettle had six kills and 10 digs for Old Lyme (11-5, 11-5) and Katie Freaney added nine assists, 10 digs and four aces.

    ¦ Samantha Cone had seven kills as Lyman Memorial beat Putnam 25-17, 25-20, 25-23 in the ECC Small. Lyman finishes its regular season 10-8, 7-3. Anna Zaytsev had seven kills and six assists for the Clippers.
