Twelve years of music, Telegraph style

For those of you preparing your Social Security membership forms, you probably remember the amazing and tragically short-lived Temporary Autonomous Zone (T>A>Z), a pan-artistic venue/mindset that anchored New London’s live music and creative scene in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

If it happened, it happened at T>A>Z.

The main impresario behind that institution was the venerable Rich Martin, who still holds court in his Telegraph Records shop. Speaking of which, it’s time to honor of the Telegraph’s 12th anniversary — congrats! In that spirit, on Saturday, Martin is hosting a celebration billed as “Return to T>A>Z — Celebrating Twelve Years of the Telegraph Autonomous Zone.”

In addition to birthday festivities, there will be live sets from Fatal Film, Dr. Martino and Trash Rabbit. As Martin suggests, it’s a glorious chance to “return to the land where the adventure began.”

    Return to T>A>Z, 6-10 p.m. Sat., The Telegraph, 19 Golden St, New London; free; telegraphnl.com, (860) 701-0506.
