Still ‘Spiritual,“ still peaceful, nice ’stache.

Our Lady Peace vocalist Raine Maida (unless it’s Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Gardner Minshew or possibly Jason Sudeikis) (submitted)

Listening to and watching the video of Our Lady Peace’s “Stop Making Stupid People Famous,” I got distracted.

The tune is from the band’s 2021 “Spiritual Machines 2” album, and it’s fine insofar as it follows the band’s snappy brand of post-grunge/modern rock. Plus, it features and was co-written by Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova.

But what I can’t get over is how much OLP singer Raine Maida is throwing down a look inspired by Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Gardner Minshew. Or maybe it’s the other way around. In either case, they DO resemble one another, with each sporting a Jason Sudeikis/“Ted Lasso” ‘stache. OR maybe Ted is ripping Gardner and Raine off!

Maybe I’ll ask Maida about it when Our Lady Peace plays the Wolf Den in Mohegan Sun on Saturday. At which time he’ll say, “You are stupid and I’m NOT making you famous by answering your brainless question.”
